Iris and Speech Recognition based Multimodal Biometric Identification

Duration: Aug 2008 – Mar 2010

Development of a multimodal biometric system that combines iris recognition and speaker identification systems using the energy compaction and time frequency resolution of wavelet analysis,. The uniqueness of iris pattern and the robustness of speaker identification based on pitch period estimation complement each other in the proposed system. Daubechies wavelet transforms for feature extraction and decision theory for matching are used successfully.
